Traveller is a FIVE time National Champion Sec.B stallion and has produced numerous champions in the Welsh and Hunter Show Circuit.

Ardmore Traveller-2001 WPCSA Sire Legion of Merit

Ardmore Traveller(Ardmore Fleetfoot X Ardmore Ariel) a Sec.B (13.1 1/2 hands) stallion, foaled 1978 is owned by the Gillett Family, RosMel Welsh Ponies in Richmond,Texas. He was purchased from his breeders, Dick and Adele Rockwell, Ardmore Stud, Ontario, Canada in 1981 when he was three years old. Dick did not want to part with him but after much persuasion, he finally allowed him to come home with us and begin his illustrious career.

Although already a champion in Canada, he quickly began winning champions and Supreme Champions in hand and received the WPCSA National High Score Champion Sec.B Stallion in 1982. He also received this honor for the next four consecutive years, 1983-1986.

Traveller is a fabulous performance animal and proved to be very versatile. He was trained by 12 year old Melanie Gillett who showed him both hunt seat and saddle seat with many good wins and the pair were almost unbeatable in Western Pleasure.

Traveller has stamped his foals with his beautiful looks and pleasing personality. They have tremendous athletic ability in the performance ring and are winning at both Welsh and Hunter shows. His foals love to jump and have gorgeous form over fences.

Traveller's most well known get has been RosMel's Amber Lace( out of Baileys Fancy Lass) who herself received her individual WPCSA Legion of Merit in 1995 as well as winning numerous National Champions in Welsh Hunter, Halter, and English and Western Pleasure. She has accumulated 3331 points.

RosMel's Fancy Image, who is also out of Baileys Fancy Lass, has accumulated 1640 points. He has won numerous National Champions in Hunter, English and Western Pleasure. In fact, between these two ponies, they were the AHSA National Champion Welsh Pleasure Pony Over 12.2 hands from 1995-1999. Both Amber Lace and Fancy Image are shown by Angel Gillett.

The remaining ponies contributing to Traveller's Sire Legion of Merit are RosMel's Cupid (out of Severn Fandango) who has 314 points and is owned by the Nowak Family, RosMel's Royal Eclipse (out of HW Gwyndy Glo) has 528 points and is owned by the Nelson Family and RosMel's Cotillion Belle (out of RosMel's Scarlet Belle) has 501 points and has been shown by the Murphy Family with much success. Traveller has 7408 total points.

Traveller is a is an outstanding example of a Sec.B Welsh stallion and a producer of many champions. At 24 years of age Traveller is enjoying his retirement.
